that's an interesting John Wieners choice. Of course all his poems blow me away. I've devoted my blog to him a couple of times...I really like "Children of the Working Class," "A poem for record players," "A poem for vipers." I also like "a poem for the dead I know." I could go on forever. Glad to see Elmslie on the list. He's also a very friendly approachable writer like yourself, although he doesn't communicate through email. He was on a reading tour this fall, and a friend and I tried to get an honorarium for him to read here, but couldn't do it. It was a huge disappointment.

Rimbaud never gets old. I've been (very slowly) reading him in french for the first time ever, and I must say it's even more incredible.

My favorite poem of all time is "Having a Coke with You" by Frank O'Hara.
