'Loveless' is such a monumental achievement that people tend to see the earlier work as build up when much of it is brilliant as is. The only thing of theirs that I can't make any excuses for is that early first album when they were doing goth rockabilly or whatever that was. Do you have a place in heart for that CD, and, if so, can you enlighten me? ** Tony, I love Spiritualized too, although I wasn't so into that last CD. But I think 'Ladies and Gentlemen ...' is one of the great records, and everything before it and up until their most recent is swoonsville for me.
