Oh gawd...Magazine's 'The Light Shines Out of Me' - Howard Devoto's voice on that song is amazing! Always sends shivers up my spine.
I have this ancient Buzzcocks bootleg from when Devoto was still with them. *note to self* MUST find record-player!
One and only time I saw Magazine live was..um, the second time I bumped into the man who now shares my life - and I stil didn't go home with him:)
Music and smells: surely the two most connotative, um...arts - if smell is an art.
Good luck with the book-signing. They are weird occasions, I know. Do you do a reading beforehand too? I really like listening to people read their work, and afterwards when I queue up to have my copy of whatever signed, I always wanna say something clever and apt to them - but I end up grinning inanely, shuffling and mumbling something worse.

I think my favorite Soft Cell song ever is "Meet Murder, My Angel." I love that whole album, in fact.
