That's quite a selection of links. I need to look into them more at work. I couldn't quite tell what was going on in the clip from the first site, but it spooked me to see the Twin Towers in general. Was that supposed to be a flying saucer? I didn't open the Bad Puppy link because I'm at work. I'll save that for home. I'll have to listen to Ashbery at home too. I saw him read like three times when I was a student at the New School. David Lehman was one of my teachers, and he seems to be a good friend of Ashbery's. So, I believe in that semester alone I attended two or three readings that Ashbery read at. I regret having not made much conversation with him.
Anyway, this is crazy, considering all of the Yoko Ono talk these days on this blog and other blogs. I was walking in the Lincoln Center area of NYC last night, previous to going to a show of various opera pieces and Rufus Wainwright doing some of his own songs with the orchestra, and who do I realize is walking next to my friend and I on the sidewalk, but the legendary Yoko Ono herself. We walked side by side for a few blocks. It was wild to see her in everyday action; her outfit was styling for a woman of her age. Very cool. So that was a nice way to start the evening.
Oh, and now I need to go see Carmen at Lincoln Center because I think I might be becoming an opera fan. It was my first time last night. I didn't feel transported to another world or anything like that, but I did feel a sense of being captivated with the music and voices.
Well, hope everyone has a good day or night, whichever.
